About the Role
This summer, you’ll join Duolingo’s Finance team and have the opportunity to dive into a variety of finance functions that will support key business decisions. You’ll work closely with the FP&A team, focusing on analytical projects and initiatives that optimize team processes, evaluate industry best practices, and drive strategy. Whether it’s researching opportunities for process improvement, developing forecasts, or synthesizing financial analysis into actionable insights, your work will have a direct impact on Duolingo’s success.

What You’ll Do:
- Conduct industry research to identify opportunities for process innovation and improvement
- Develop forecasts and track performance, analyzing deviations from actuals to guide business strategy
- Translate complex financial data into clear, digestible communications for cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with departments like strategy, data science, product, and content teams to generate financial insights for decision-making
- Contribute to board materials, earnings calls, and stakeholder communications
- Lead project management for strategic finance projects, ensuring timely execution and smooth collaboration across teams
What You’ll Bring:
- Currently pursuing an MBA or related Masters program (e.g., Masters in Finance) with an expected graduation date of Spring 2026
- 3+ years of professional experience in a related field
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, self-starting attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for complex financial modeling and analysis
- Strong presentation skills with experience using Google Slides and/or PowerPoint
- Proven experience managing cross-functional projects, with the ability to anticipate roadblocks and offer solutions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working with diverse internal and external teams

Exceptional candidates will have:
- Experience in subscription and digital goods business models, especially in companies with millions of users
- Exposure to the workings of a public tech company, including familiarity with earnings call cycles

Hourly rate: $50-$52 USD
