About the Team
In this role, you’ll work on developing the next generation of async Rust-based infrastructure and tooling used by all Tesla firmware engineers. Your work will be central to the efficient development of vehicle firmware, supporting all current and future vehicle programs. If you’re excited about solving complex problems in distributed systems and big data synchronization, this internship is for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop backend infrastructure services using async Rust with Tokio
- Architect and build CLI tools to interface with backend services
- Design software solutions for big data synchronization, storage, and retrieval
- Develop automated tests to ensure software quality and functionality
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams and users of the software tools
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual who has:
- A degree (or pursuing one) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with a graduation date between August 2025 and August 2026
- Knowledge and experience in Rust and proficiency with C++ or Python
- Experience with Linux OS internals
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or Docker containers (nice to have)
- Knowledge of Git for version control
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects

Expected Compensation:
